Christmas is grander at Toys ‘R’ Us in Glorietta 1

MANILA, Philippines - The holidays just became extra special for kids –– Toys “R” Us, the World’s Greatest Toy Store, just opened at the 2nd level of Glorietta 1, Ayala Center Makati last Nov. 16. The grander and bigger branch sports a brand new look that features animated images and icons plastered on walls, fixtures, counters and doors –– it’s truly a place where kids can be kids and have fun.

Headlining the opening were special guests, James McCarthy, senior commercial officer from the US Commercial Service, US Embassy; Toys “R” Us kid-ambassadors Elin Guevarra, Kier Segundo, Yomi Salas and Andre dela Torre, and Toys “R” Us ambassador, Geoffrey The Giraffe, who led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to open the 1,000-square-meter playground.

Fun-filled activities ensued after the opening rites. Geoffrey the Giraffe and the Sylvanian Families welcomed the customers and danced to the Toys “R” Us jingle. Kids were thrilled to “meet-and-greet” Spiderman, Batman, Hawk-Eye, Iron Man and War Machine. Crafty tykes got creative at the Polly Pocket bracelet-making activity, while boys enjoyed Mega Blocks and the Micro Chargers race track.

There was also a Rubik’s exhibition conducted by Richard Jay Apagar, who bagged the Gold prize in the 3 x 3 x 3 Speed Solve division with an average time of 9.45 seconds in the Asian Rubik’s Championship held recently in Hong Kong. Discounts and freebies were given away to customers.

And since Christmas is almost here, kids and adults can look forward to Toys “R” Us holiday highlights. Expect the “Great Big Toys ”R” Us Toy Book 201 –– the annual catalogue of all the playthings featured in Toys “R” Us, to be available soon. Featuring the hottest toys of the season from each Toys “R” Us zone, the catalogue also showcases exclusive finds at Toys “R” Us, special promos and offers that make gift-giving hassle-free.

Toys ”R” Us is also holding exciting on-line raffle promotion, the “Toys “R” Us Wish List.” Simply complete a minimum P500 single receipt and to log on to the Toys “R” Us Facebook fan page to join the promotion for a chance to win a gift of your choice.
