Pinoy designer debuts collab with Chinese luxury label

MANILA, Philippines - Accessories designer Bea Valdes has done it again.

The Vogue UK cover regular collaborated with luxury house Shanghai Tang for its fall/winter 2011 accessories line. Crafting her own interpretation of “traditional elements such as the Chinese knots embroidered with metal chain, and the symbol of the dragon, carved into mother of pearl,” the London-educated designer debuted her collection this month at Shanghai Tang boutiques at Takashimaya, Raffles City and The Shoppes at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Necklaces fashioned from medallions interspersed with labradorite stones and Swarovski crystals signal Valdes’ deft talent for creating pieces of art that do double duty as accessories.
