Arnold Galang: Free Tibet

- JCA -

MANILA, Philippines - Bold, earthy tones that were in sync with nature featured predominantly in Arnold Galang’s ode to Tibet for his Holiday 2011 collection.  Opening with a distinctly Asian dancer in full garb with elongated nails, the runway creations were light, and entirely wearable.  A symphony of pieces in crimson, wine, nude, orange, sapphire and emerald were crafted of easy-to-drape jersey that can go from day to night in a flash. Functional, staple pieces that can be incorporated into any wardrobe were unveiled on the ramp.

The collection consisted of asymmetrical tops paired with comfortable harem pants and flowing long skirts.  Jumpsuits and long dresses for days when you can’t be bothered to think about your getup are splendid options.  Warm prints had a huge presence and fortunately did not shy away from going print on print.  Tassled belts and lariat necklaces reverberated with Asian distinction and flair that would surely make the Dalai Lama proud.
