Summer takes on the '70s fever
MANILA, Philippines - Bianca Jagger’s tailored, wide-legged pantsuits. Ali McGraw’s sinuous chiffon frocks. The mix of earthiness, confidence and sensual allure exuded by ‘70s style icons. These are the inspirations behind Una Rosa’s latest collection, which pretty much envisions summer 2011 as one of “sophisticated glamour,” in the style of the women who frequented the high-profile scene of nightclubs Studio 54 and The Loft.
Elegant tailoring, neutral color palettes, blocked prints and huge ruffle detailing can be seen on soft jumpsuits, wide-legged pants, waisted jackets, loose harem pants and skimpy halter tops. Originally staples of the ‘70s fashion scene, these pieces have been dealt a modern interpretation but still retain the sensuality and panache of the decade best known for its decadence.
Unarosa is located at Megamall, Shangri-La Plaza, Shoppesville, SM The Block. To view the collection, visit www.una-rosa.com.
