Vivid hues are the new neutrals

Makeup maven Dick Page suggests playing with color for the holidays. “Color is an accessory,” says Page. “It’s for play.”

While creating the sets of Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio, Page selected colors based on current trends, but also made a conscious decision to pair intense dark tones or all brights. The more unusual the range, the better the chance for more adventurous combinations.

“These compacts express my editorial eye for color with combinations which not only reflect fashion but create their own style,” he says. “The trios contain three contrasting colors, but some consist purely of various highlights, bright colors or intense dark tones. This is another way to engage the customer, with surprising ways of seeing new possibilities in makeup.”
