MANILA, Philippines - When Forever 21 opened in New York’s Times Square, a four-story monolith with blinking klieg lights heralding the brand’s logo sprawled across the storefront, New York magazine’s sensational headline read: “The New Forever 21 Attracts Seven Times as Many Visitors a Day as the Statue of Liberty.”

When the Manila store opens today, a vast space in Megamall A that took over Cinderella’s old spot, we won’t expect a barrage of Luneta-levels to swarm the store. But the folks who run Forever 21 say that stocks are plentiful — enough to sustain eager shoppers from all over the metro. With shipments hitting the store every week, sometimes twice a week, customers will have plenty to drool over this Friday.
