Rockin' Rihanna
MANILA, Philippines - Rihanna’s bold, cutting-edge style has always stood out on the red carpet. From casual to couture, Rihanna never shies away from inventing — and then re-inventing — her sense of personal style. For the release of her much-anticipated “Rated R” album, the R&B singer sported an all-new look. On the cover of her CD, Rihanna was photographed in a moody, contemplative pose wearing a leather top with her hand covering her right eye and each finger adorned with an intricate set of rings, reminiscent of the 1980s album covers by singer Grace Jones.
Rihanna’s distinct style was shown at the recent Nokia event as DJ/models Cristina Bartges, Mia Ayesa and Ornussa Cadness sashayed in full Rihanna ensembles while stylishly brandishing Nokia’s newest music device, the Nokia X6. The event was also to celebrate the musical partnership between Nokia, Rihanna, Island Def Jam Music Group, and Universal Music Group International. Representatives from the local MCA/Universal Music Group were also present at the event.
“Nokia is extremely excited to collaborate with a talented and renowned artist like Rihanna to truly redefine the connection between artists and fans and to deliver unique experience and content across the globe,” said Benoit Nalin, general manager of Nokia Philippines. The move is seen as the latest in the many innovations designed for record labels to adapt to the modern digital lifestyle.
