Wynn Wynn is for all ages

MANILA, Philippines - When Wynn Wynn Ong came onto the scene with her detail oriented pieces, she immediately drew a following that anticipated her every collection with bated breath. This holiday season, she is unveiling her epic 40-piece collection called Ages. Though inspired by ancient times that highlight her deft goldsmithing skills, there is still something thoroughly modern about her pieces. Expect Babylonian gods and bulls emblazoned on her repoussed cuffs, as if it were lifted from a wall in those days. Not so precious, but more like precocious waist cinchers and carved falcon heads that shine with tourmaline eyes also play a part in this exotic collection. Expect to also be wowed by an earpiece meant to be worn in such a way that tiny gold vines curl around the top of one’s ear.

Known for her attention to detail, Ong now spends  an average of 10 to 12 hours a day in her art-filled private studio that only a chosen few are allowed entry into. All aspects of jewelry-making are done in-house, and she’s consistently maintained her stand of making a limited number of art pieces each year, none of which are repeated in design.Each finished piece is now thoroughly documented with a high-resolution picture of the piece filed with the initial sketch, the formal perspectives, and background story of the gems and the attendant work.
