Best-dressed guests
Tradition dictates that on any wedding day, it is the bride who becomes the center of attention. That said, it’s also a time when wedding guests take the opportunity to don their best made-to-order/off-the-rack for the occasion. Many, however, are still pretty clueless as to what to wear. An outlandishly overdressed guest who outshines the bride is, above all, considered in poor taste and outright rude. Don’t worry, ladies, you will soon get your chance. City
A wedding in the city requires a dash of chic modernity without compromising femininity. This season, it’s all about architectural designs, which, thankfully, are universally flattering. Hemlines go to extremes: a guest may prefer a floor-sweeping outfit or one that goes way above the knee, not compromising modesty with tights.
Beach
Beach weddings call for outfits with light fabrics and its appropriate shades (light and royal blues, aquamarine, celadon green, coral, orange and yellow). Many opt for maxi dresses and hemlines above the knee, usually in an arm- or back-bearing ensemble. And with the dawn of ubiquitous jumpsuits, guests have been becoming partial to them as well.
Garden
The most literal interpretation that comes to mind in the subject of garden weddings is Gossip Girl’s Lily Van Der Woodsen. Daughter Serena tastefully came in a yellow halter floor-sweeping gown, while best friend Blair almost blended in with the flora and fauna backdrop with pink cabbage roses on her clothes and her hair.
