Pied piper: Sole searching
As the summer clouds condense into little purses of rain, the pedicures from sunnier days seek refuge in monsoon-friendly footwear. It may be the best thing about the rainy season. Although flip-flops and slip-ons may be liberating, there’s something sexy about covering up.
This season, we celebrate slick and sturdy shoes made for dancing. Shoes that can be seen on Michael Jackson to Coco (avec) Chanel to Diana Vreeland. Janylin this season presents an impressive collection that ranges from retro to plain surreal. Chunky spectators or, perhaps, pump boots that take a bite out of Magritte’s imagination is just part of the autumn shoe pie. Paired with whimsical legwear by Kate Torralba, the look pays homage to the silly ’60s and the more austere ’20s.
All together it’s a look that’s all very now.
