Cheap thrills

Few things make me hyperventilate as much as scoring a bargain. Cheap thrills make me feel good about spending, versus buying expensive stuff that makes me want to work harder to help my bank account recover. That’s why the sight of Saizen, the original Japanese store with everything and anything you might need priced at just P85, made me giddy. I was on a date night with my hubby when I stepped into this magical store and got lost in a maze of, well, cute stuff.

There is an endless array of plastic containers, wooden cooking utensils, mats for drawers, garden décor, pet accessories, toys, socks, and other things you never knew existed, let alone were missing from your life. Fancy a very phallic banana holder? How about a hat clip to keep it from flying away on windy days?

I thought their stretchable curtain holders were genius and their plastic spike mats meant to discourage pets from treading on off-limit areas was truly a useful find.

And with everything priced at P85, how can you go wrong? I’m not much into crafting, but seeing sooo many kinds of scissors, staplers, paints and papers, I felt like getting creative! They literally come up with over a hundred new items a month!

Straight from Japan, and with most of the items specifically designed for Saizen, the unique and quirky finds make you smile and giggle. The only problem with going into this store is you get overwhelmed by so many things that you can afford to take home — a welcome feeling during these hard times.
