Experts say color can alter your mood, enhance your perception, calm the nerves and even enhance your appetite. If spring’s bright yellow is an indication of good things to come, then we can expect a lot of cheer and positivity. In today’s grim economic conditions, it’s as if the fashion gods all rallied together and decided to shower a ray of hope via a Crayola color.
There is no doubt that yellow is summer’s color du jour, and designers all over have jumped onto the bandwagon. From Christian Dior’s yummy chiffon dresses, Hervé Leger’s neon mini dresses to Marni’s futuristic vests, it’s clear that fashion is willingly doing its part to spread the love. Wearing the shade head-to-toe can be a bit arresting for some, so a mix of prints, patterns and the classic denim breaks the shock. Black is a gorgeous contrast, and to avoid looking too “bumble-beeish,” make it your accent piece, as an inner camisole or a soft scarf. White on yellow looks sweet and cool to the eyes while the always-flexible denim (preferably true blues) is the perfect foil. So what else are you waiting for?
