Color theory
For those who follow fashion, it’s almost instinctive to know what will be hot next. During the rhinestone-encrusted era of neo-Baroque bling, fashion insiders were already stocking up on oversized cardigans and leggings championing the less is more look.
Color has been a shocking hero element in fashion for the past few seasons. Just when gray and nudes tried to push their way back into the limelight, people still wanted their jewel tones splayed in orbital graphic, color blocks, layers and unapologetic solids.
Kate Torralba is no stranger to color. She entered the scene with a transparent desire to catch the rainbow through fashion. Now she adds hosiery, fashion’s oft-neglected child, to her range of Skittle-hued delights. Sugary hues on limbs may seem daunting but with some derring do, the look is seamless and natural.
In troubled times, dress like the Nikkei is up. Then maybe things will start to follow.
