MANILA, Philippines - Piolo Pascual has a lot to celebrate this year — his 37th birthday and his 10th year as ambassador of global watch brand, Timex.
Time has been good on the award-winning actor and triathlete who just celebrated his birthday last January 12, looking as fit and young as ever. No surprise here, since Piolo spends most of his free time working out, to one day run, bike and swim a full triathlon distance.
As an actor, Piolo has received numerous awards for movie and television throughout the years for his stellar performances and dedication to his craft.
When it comes to music, Piolo’s soothing voice has also landed him a number of awards. This may already seem like a lot of achievements for a man who isn’t even 40, but to Piolo, one can always push further. He believes there is no limit to what he can do, if he puts his mind to it.
In the past few years, Piolo has also earned the respect of the sports industry since he joined the 2009 Timex Run. Back then he finished a 10k route at 47:56, his all-time personal best — now popularly known as “sub-Piolo.â€
Since then, Piolo has joined marathon after marathon, always trying to stretch his limits and beat his own records.
In 2010, Piolo, along with two teammates, represented Timex at the Ironman Triathlon 70.3 held in Camarines Sur. Considering they were first timers, his team did a pretty good job after clocking in 5 hours, 52 minutes, 59 seconds, putting them at 9th place in the Mixed Relay Category and 28th overall.
Now, aside from his busy schedule as an actor, Piolo is undergoing rigorous training, with the aim of finishing a full triathlon distance before he turns 40.
