Cue up that music

Regine Cabato - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -For its fourth anniversary, Heima Store has teamed up with co.lab and Status magazine to produce an interactive seminar, Design Discussions 4, for budding artists, aspiring designers, and cultural creatives.

In their lineup of speakers are the husband and wife design duo IdKids, the “digital baristas” of Inksurge, The Manila Review’s Mara Coson, magazine editor Kissa McDermott, Homegrown PH’s Danella Yaptinchay, art director Patrick Jamora, director Marie Jamora, and graphic designer Isabel Gatuslao. The speakers will be covering web design, publication and public discussion, film, and identity among other topics — proving design is also beyond the visual.

The workshop takes place at co.lab 3/F Unit 301, #3 Brixton St., Kapitolyo, in Pasig City this Saturday (April 20) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Book a slot in time — seats are limited — but if you can’t make it, you might as well go to the Brixton BBQ Party next door – it starts at five, ending at midnight at Unit 103 in the Three Brixton Building.

A collaborative effort with Keds, the Brixton Barbecue Party presents live performances from music favorites No Rome and Similar Objects, as well as up and coming names like the Davao-based electropop act Skymarines. It will also be featuring live DJ sets by Major Chie and California’s Dank Radio founder and host Nativity.
