Conversation Pieces: Gravitational pull
MANILA, Philippines - From the outside, Center of Gravity (CoG) doesn’t immediately draw you in, nondescript as it is amid the urban sprawl of Forbestown in Bonifacio High Street. But then you enter the shop and the clean, all-wood walls and the sunny demeanor of the staff evoke a warmth reminiscent of Southern California beach culture.
This balmy atmosphere is validated by the store’s extensive array of Hurley apparel, including jeans, shorts, caps and swimwear. The second floor offers more choices of Hurley clothing, as well as Converse skateboarding shoes and Nike footwear, obviously living up to their company philosophy of “providing tools that fit your lifestyle.”
After the staff willingly guides you through the various displays without being too in your face, patrons are welcome to grab one of the X-box’s controllers and have a good post-purchase play. Even freshly brewed coffee is offered via the store’s in-house espresso machine.
The store’s opening was a triumphant step up for its creators, The Outlet People. Initially developing a Nike outlet store in Subic Bay’s Freeport zone, they decided to take a multi-brand, sports-on-the-edge lifestyle store to the city through CoG. A gravity wave of cool has certainly washed up on the Street.
CoG is located at F-130 Forbestown Road, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig
