How can you not know.

- Ana G. Kalaw -

MANILA, Philippines - Which movies gave us these one-liners?

 And we don’t mean that ‘You had me at “hello”’ crap.

“You’re a virgin who can’t drive.”

Clue: From the passed away to the washed away, in the ‘90s celluloid rendering of Austen’s Emma

Answer: Clueless. The recently-departed Brittany Murphy’s Tai Smith taunts Cher Horowitz, played by ‘90s pin-up fodder Alicia Silverstone, with this line.

“And, baby, when I tell ya the boy has got his own money, I mean the boy has got his own money!”

Clue: Queens, New York gained even more notoriety from this movie.

Answer: Coming to America. Cleo McDowell (John Amos), the incarnation of every African-American father, ecstatically reveals to his daughter, Lisa (Shari Headley), that her new boyfriend is actually the prince of Zamunda and — literally — has his own money.

“Well, maybe we should tell that to Rain Man, because he practically bankrupted a casino, and he was a ri-tard.”

Clue: Four men and a baby and a stripper and a tiger and an irate Chinese high roller

Answer: Hangover. The slightly dippy Alan Garner, played by the seriously bearded Zach Galifianakis, defends his skill at blackjack.

* * *

“You’ve got hands? F*ck, you’ve got hands?”

Clue: From one of the best movies never made

Answer: Tropic Thunder. Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey, Jr.) gets his mind blown out —again — when Four Leaf Tayback’s (Nick Nolte) prosthetics are revealed to be a sham.

* * *

“I love your eyebrows! We’ll call them Frida and Kahlo.”

Clue: Every teenage girl’s fantasy before Edward Cullen came onto the scene

Answer: Princess Diaries. Paolo the Hairdresser (an uncredited Larry Miller) sympathizes with Mia Thermopolis’ (Anne Hathaway) pre-makeover brows.
