How can you not know... when Aerosmith videos were awesome

- Paolo Lorenzana -

MANILA, Philippines - Peak of Popularity (POP): In the early-to-mid-‘90s, where the band’s music videos encapsulated the yearnings of the teenage mind; examples being an Alicia Silverstone trinity (she has never looked better) that includes one where she and Liv Tyler play naughty, nomadic schoolgirls. Actually, the band seemed to have a thing for    liberating the Catholic schoolgirl, some vids portraying them getting crazy on carousels or bashing car windows with hockey sticks.

Last Seen: A refined Weird Science (another lesson for another day) type of video in 1997 where a high school nerd/loser redeems himself with the Franken-hotties he creates. This was before I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing and Steven Tyler going geriatric on us with all those performance-related injuries.

Why you should YouTube these relics: Because these videos are what teen movies should be, inspiring us to embrace our stupid youth, but in less than seven minutes.

NEW WORD ORDER

SLASHIONISTA n: Someone who doesn’t just multi-task but works multiple jobs, mostly in the “arts”. Or at least tries to.

Why is it that every kid nowadays is a slashionista? It’s like they want to become bloggers, photographers, models, and whatever else all at the same time.

SELL-GREGATION n: When advertisements target a very specific demographic.

cf. Mojo Jojo’s Glutamax “I feel whiter and gay each day” ad and Hennessy print ads where an all-African American, dapper male congregation is sitting around, swilling the stuff.
