Keeping sunny with memories of Boracay Bound 8
As I sit in and think in this rain soaked schizophrenic weather, I can’t help but think back to warmer days. This year in particular the weather did a really weird turnaround and suddenly summer started later and ended earlier and it just seems like the rain is never going to end.
In times like these I have my warm memories to give me fuel to pass the rainy days. One such memory is the eighth, and latest installment of Boracay Bound, the best summer beach party series.
I am, after all, quite the veteran when it comes to Boracay Bound having participated in it since the first series began.
My how Boracay has changed since then — luckily, one thing hasn’t, and that’s that Boracay Bound is still as fun now as it was then.
Earlier this year, Bacardi Boracay Bound heated things up again, as the paradise island was conquered by exciting games and wild parties. Everyone headed for the sunny shores were party guru Stephen Ku, of Eventscape led the three days of fun under the sun. Celebrities such as Angelu de Leon, Joanne Quintas-Primero, Tisha Silang, Claudine Trillo, Karen Pamintuan, Brent Javier, Geoff Rodriguez, Tim Yap, JR Isaac, Erik Cua, Mojo endorser Marc Nelson, Marc Abaya, Alfred Vargas, Iza Calzado, Manolet Dario, RJ Ledesma, Rovilson Fernandez, Maggie Wilson and Jinno Rufino to name a few, came in full force via SeAir’s 35-minute flight.
The Bamboo Lounge & Bans Resort Beach Front was set for fun filled Pinoy-inspired beach games like Flojos’ (which my feet loved, incidentally!) innovative tumbang-preso as the participants traversed the Wibit water inflatables (which was harder than it looked) on day 2. Mojo organic fizz was on-site to keep everyone hydrated and refreshed. Then, as the sun set, Boracay’s official sunset venue Solstice (Tides Hotel Roofdeck) served as the perfect backdrop for overflowing Bacardi drinks as everyone chilled down before the party broke loose at night. First night, Manor Superclub invaded Guilly’s as Embassy shook Club Paraw on the second night with their top resident DJs.
All these and more make for one exciting trip and what’s more winners of the games went home with great prizes, like Nino who won a free trip to the Tides, which I am currently staring at right now. Hmmm, what better way to escape the blues of the city than with a much needed trip to the beach?!
Yes, I think it’s time to head back to my favorite sand-filled sunny shores for much needed recharging and whether it’s flying quickly via Seair, hanging at the Tides and drinking Bacardi, or slathering on the Banana Boat suntan lotion and lounging on the beach, Boracay and memories of Boracay fun will always keep me warm during these gloomy rainy days.
