Metro Station shakes Manila at Ayala Malls
MANILA, Philippines - Ayala Malls recently brought popular rock sensation Metro Station to Manila.
“The series of shows is our way of thanking our shoppers who have been very supportive of all the Ayala Malls. Through the years, we have brought in some of the most remarkable performances of both foreign and local artists that it has become a trademark of the Ayala Malls. Our shoppers have learned to look forward to our new and exciting events and promotions year round,” said Rowena Tomeldan, Ayala Malls group vice president and COO.
The Metro Station visit was made possible by Ayala Malls’ partners Myx, RX 93.1, Sony BMG and Music Management International.
An American pop rock band formed in 2006 in Los Angeles, California, Metro Station creates a collection of sounds and lyrics reflecting the energy of our moment. The band released its self-titled debut studio album in September 2007 with two singles released, Kelsey and Control. It wasn’t until mid-2008 when the release of the single Shake It grabbed immediate attention, peaking in the top 10 of three US charts. The song packed at #3 on Hot Digital Songs, #9 in the Pop 100, and #10 in the Billboard Hot 100. Not long after the album charted nine months later in 2008 at #43 in the Billboard 200, #1 Top Electronic Albums and #2 in the Top Heatseekers.
