Freshness in a bar
MANILA, Philippines - To refresh and energize the hectic lifestyle of women nowadays, Dove, the num-ber one skin cleansing product or syndette (a cleanser without the harsh chemicals of soap) in the world has launched its Go Fresh! line. The line, complete with beauty bars, body washes, lotions and anti-deodorants, now comes in special pick-me-up scents, thus the name Go Fresh! “For those who want a little more energy during their daily bath,” as Dennis Perez, Dove brand manager, puts it.
Introducing two new and exciting variants, Dove welcomes the combined relaxing and unique scent of cucumber and green tea in their Fresh Moisture range and the refreshing aromas of grapefruit and lemongrass in its Energizing range into the Dove family.
The launch for their Go Fresh! line was not the typical product launch. To my delight, Dove decided to go all out with personalized drinks, food and, best of all, massages using their products.
In collaboration with Sofitel Philippines, the event, hosted by model, host and yoga instructor Teresa Herrera, welcomed guests with a fresh serving of mojitos with lemons and mint, colorful samosas, fish sticks with wasabi sauce, prawns with grapefruit and chicken tikka skewers that reflected the fresh and upbeat scents and aromas of the Go Fresh! line.
I was excited about the whole Skin Awakening Experience that was in store for us. As we were led to our private rooms, Ipanema, the organic sandal brand of Giselle Bundchen, gave us a treat: a pair of rubber slippers bundled in a sack tied with a small slipper key chain as a surprise.
Going into our separate rooms in Le Spa (each named after a state; mine was named “Harmonie”), the masseuses had us change into our lush robes then proceeded to begin with a “Soleful Start” — the first stage of the pampering process.
This was a footbath using the Energize and Fresh Moisture bars in hot water with lemon and local lime to refresh and relieve our tired and cramped feet (from all the walking in high heels).
The second stage was called “Scrub-A-Dub-Dove” — a body scrub with exfoliating beads massaged with loofah into our skin to make it soft, supple and effectively remove dead skin cells. The scrub, immediately followed by a quick shower using the Destress, Refresh! body wash of Dove, was lathery in texture giving a feeling of utmost moisture to the skin.
Take note that in spite of the steaming hot water in the shower, the scent of the Energizing body wash with lemongrass and grapefruit seemed to awaken my senses, making me feel refreshed and very much awake!
The last installation of the whole spoiling process was my favorite. The Vitalizing Skin Polish, a whole body massage using the Fresh Moisture cooling lotion. The cooling effects of the cucumber refreshed my entire body, making me wish I could feel that way all day, every day, and not only during the heat of summer.
Luckily, the new Dove Go Fresh! line is here to stay, still with its fabulous moisturizing milk that offers 24-hour skin nourishment now with the added pleasure of calming and revitalizing scents.
All in all, it was an invigorating night. And as I woke up the very next day, my skin still felt baby soft and relaxed as if I had just been pampered. Feeling extremely refreshed, I had no problem taking on the tasks of the day ahead, proving this product is definitely for the woman on the go.
