Who's got the cleanest car?

-

MANILA, Philippines - Some members of the UP Engineering Society recently took part in a tough yet fun car-cleaning event dubbed “Armor All Car Wash Challenge” held in UP Diliman. The weekend event was part of the awareness campaign for Armor All, one of the most trusted and preferred brands of high-quality cleaning and car protectants in the country today.

Two groups of students were briefed on the uses of Armor All Original Protectant, Multi-purpose Auto Cleaner, Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner, and Leather Care Protectant for cleaning the car’s interiors, as well as Car Wash Concentrate, Auto Glass Cleaner and Tire Foam Protectant and Extreme Tire Shine for the exteriors. They were also given hands-on training on how to properly apply Armor All products, letting them experience how each product helps make different parts of the car become cleaner and shinier while also providing for that “just detailed look.”

During the event, team A made up of Darryl Uy, John Edrian Atendido, Addison Falcon and Juan Paolo Penaranda matched wits and car cleaning skills with Anelyn Lim, Mia Cernechez, Nats dela Cruz, and Pampy Rance of Team B. To win, each team had to have the cleanest car in and out (90 percent of criteria), at the fastest time (10 percent).

Armed with just a pail of water, franela, chamois, sponge and Armor All products, the two teams went toe-to-toe, with Anelyn’s team initially gaining the upper hand with better teamwork. While two worked outside the car, rubbing Armor All Multi-purpose Auto Cleaner to create instant shine on top, to both sides, as well as on the car’s front and rear panels, two others cleaned the car’s interiors, applying Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner on the car’s mat flooring and using Leather Care Protectant Gel to create superbly conditioned car seat covers with lasting, luxurious look.

Darryl’s team concentrated on the car’s tires, needing just a few sprays of Armor All Tire Foam to create a shiny and sparklingly clean car tire in seconds. Streaks in the glass windows also vanished instantly when team members applied Armor All Glass Cleaners. Unlike household cleaners, Armor All Glass Cleaner’s powerful formula helps dissolve grime and haze fast, thus leaving a streak-free shine on the car’s windshield despite minimal use of water.

Then, with time almost winding down, Darryl’s team made a last-ditch effort to secure the win, opting for Armor All Original Protectant, the most popular car cleaning product in their arsenal, to clean the car’s dashboards, bumpers, window trims and door panels in haze. Some of the team’s members were even seen using both hands to wipe away dirt and grime, not just on the car but on their faces as well, just to save precious time. Armor All Original Protectant’s newly improved “no drip” formula helped restore the car’s original shine while also helping enhance its paint.

In the end, the first prize plum went to Team A owing to faster cleaning time (they did it in less than 15 minutes!). Team B didn’t go home empty-handed as they got a complete set of Armor All car cleaning products plus the consolation prize. According to members of the winning team, what made their task a lot easier was the fact that almost instantly, Armor All products helped bring about a natural, cleaner and deeper shine to the cars — without them really sweating it out too much.
