MEANWHILE - Michelle Katigbak -

In a city that almost never sleeps with bustling call centers, restaurants and a new high-end mall, a new haven for Manila’s partyphiles rises in Eastwood City — the Manor Superclub.

Fueled in part by the music industry and the steady influx of clubbers bubbling around Metro’s melting pot of Makati, Manor gives party people a new option for spending their next evening out in the Eastwood City complex. Indeed, it is a welcome change from the familiarity of the common clubbing areas and you only need to spy on the cars parked outside the Manor on Saturdays, or see the long, threading lines of club-goers on one of its weekly nights to realize that this club is definitely appealing to a whole new target market giving them a special place to chill, hang out or dance to some of the best music in the industry.

Masters of the concept clubbing experience Erik Cua and Stephen Ku, together with partners and party gurus Carlo Aquino, Bingo Manahan and Tim Yap launched Manila nightlife’s new home, Manor Superclub, together conceptualizing a bar reminiscent of a large “Manor.” Housing two clubbing rooms — Basement, Penthouse (plus a soon to open Deck) — each area has its own distinct style, vibe, interiors and brand of music.

And how else does one open a new superclub called Manor? With a Housewarming Party, of course! Headlining the jam-packed and star-studded event were Manila’s top house DJ Martin Pulgar and DJ mag’s Top 35 in the World; Ricky Stone in the main room with hip-hop/mash-up superstars DJ Ace and DJ Darrel D with MC Paolo in the Basement.

Spotted joining the revelry were Miriam Quiambao, Borgy Manotoc, Michelle Madrigal, Sam Milby, Alex Gonzaga, Ketchup Eusebio, Karen Bordador of Playgirls, Louie Y., Jun Fernando, Alex Escat, Wella Kunghun, Stephanie Zubiri, GP Reyes, Leo Po, Kevin Tan, Divine Lee, JR Isaac, Erica and Ala Paredes, Mars Miranda, Karl Ty, Tony Toni, Slick Rick, VJ Sid, DJ Diane Moniz, chef Fernando Aracama, Paolo Villanueva of SML and TV anchors Gretchen Fullido and Nelson Canlas, among others.

I managed to get there on the opening night and see the place for myself. I loved the interiors, which really reminded me of an old picturesque manor with high ceilings and chandeliers and beautiful decorations. Not to mention the Basement was beautiful and perfectly set up for every kind of party and event.

So, if you are looking for a new nightlife experience and want to go somewhere other than the regular weekend destinations, check out the new House of Nightly Revelry in Eastwood City. Manor has made its mark and is definitely here to stay.
