Guns N' Roses declares the democracy of China
Rock n’ roll must have the power to grant immortality because it makes artists who choose to stay under its wings stand the test of time. First there is legendary rock group Metallica, that even after several years of silence, was able to hit gold with “Death Magnetic.” Now, MCA Music Inc. is proud to announce the comeback of Guns N’ Roses with their new album, “Chinese Democracy.” Axl Rose resurrects to lead a new pack of rockers to remind all listeners across nations about his legacy and to mark a new historic moment in rock ‘n’ roll.
Produced by the front man himself Axl Rose with Caram Costanzo, “Chinese Democracy” includes 14 tracks. The title track and first single from the album, Chinese Democracy, takes on a slightly different sound. It starts off theatrically with Chinese-inspired sound effects, includes less of Axl Rose’ signature high-pitched renditions and more of head banging solos, yet, still tastefully rock and roll. The guys from Guns N’ Roses also keep up with the times by releasing two of the album’s songs unconventionally. Shackler’s Revenge will be included in the emerging popular videogame Rock Band 2 and If the World will also be release through the movie, Body of Lies.
“The release of ‘Chinese Democracy’ marks a historic moment in rock ‘n’ roll,” says Irving Azoff, who co-manages the band with Andy Gould. “And we’re launching with a monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself. Guns N’ Roses fans have every reason to celebrate, for this is only the beginning.”
“Guns N’ Roses redefined the American rock band and became a global music icon,” added Steve Berman, president of sales and marketing of Interscope Geffen A&M Records. “We’re incredibly excited that ‘Chinese Democracy’ will be heard worldwide through Geffen Records and the Universal Music Group (the international affiliate of MCA Music Inc.)”.
Seventeen years ago, the two previous original albums from one of rock’s most intense and compelling bands were issued simultaneously, a first for any contemporary artist. These albums featured three power hits with November Rain, Don’t Cry and Live and Let Die. Each album went seven times platinum worldwide.
The band’s 1987 full-length debut “Appetite for Destruction” has sold more than 28 million copies worldwide and is among the biggest-selling albums in history. The album notched three legendary hits—the gold anthem Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child o’ Mine and Paradise City.
The newest album of Guns N Roses, “Chinese Democracy” and the band’s previous phenomenal album, “Appetite for Destruction” are available in standard and Special Philippines Edition at AstroVision, Odyssey, MusicOne and Fully Booked stores. The rock tracks of Guns N’ Roses are also available by download through cell phone via selected network provider, and also through Internet download via www.fliptunesples.net.
