A rock supreme
Make way as the rock bosses of the airwaves recapture the stage at the 2008 NU107 Rock Awards on Nov. 27, 7 p.m., Silvercity, Frontera Verde, Pasig City. This year marks the 15th year of the Rock Awards, which gives prominence to the top dogs of Pinoy Rock.
Throughout its 21 years of existence, NU107 has pioneered and revolutionized the rock radio by promoting the best of local talent. This year’s event gathers those who have created milestones in shaping today’s rock scene with performers such as Greyhoundz, Pupil, Radioactive Sago Project, Markus Highway, Rico Blanco, Urbandub, Bamboo, Sandwich, The Dawn and Razorback. Gates open at 5 p.m.
Today, the NU107 Rock Awards continues to acknowledge the most deserving in the industry, giving out awards for the Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Vocalist of the Year, Guitarist of the Year, Bassist of the Year, Drummer of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Album Packaging, Best Music Video, Producer of the Year, Smart/URock College Band of the Year, Best live Act, Red Horse In the Raw Award. The winners for these categories will be partly determined via online voting through the website.
Aside from the usual group and individual categories, special awards have also been lined up such as the Red Horse In The Raw Award, The Smart/U Rock College Band Of The Year, the Nokia IAC award and the Smart Buddy Listener’s Choice Award. For ticket information, call Ticketnet office at 911-5555.
The NU107 Rock Awards 2008 is presented by Red Horse Beer, Smart Buddy, Nokia and Clear.
