Two become one

- JR Isaac -

It is a fusion of sorts as musical artists combine form and function, style and comfort. These artists have perfected the art of balance as they jump from work to gig after gig. They look effortless rocking it out onstage, even while wearing their everyday clothes. Their too-cool attitude sets them apart and makes them stand out. Their unique style and taste is impeccable. There are definitely no boundaries for these artists as they hit the music industry with sounds that will not only give you last-song syndrome, but also something to think about.

Moto Mashup 2.0 has also perfected combining two elements into one. They selected artists from different genres to come up with one great song, and the results are explosive.

Niles Chong

Niles wears a hot pink band shirt from pop-punk stalwarts Motion City Soundtrack, classic blue jeans and his favorite Nike SB Dunks. He says it’s easy to wear whenever he’s out yet cool enough to wear during gigs. Niles can relate to Calde Calderon’s fashion sense.

Lio Valio

Lio wears a black shirt from Topman, Levi’s straight-cut jeans, Ray Ban aviators and Chuck Taylor sneakers. This is what he usually wears in the office or when he goes out. Simplicity is style bliss.

Kelvin Uy

Kelvin wears what he usually wears to gigs. It’s very comfortable and easier to move in, he says. He confesses: “Maybe I should be thinking more about what I wear than I do, because I don’t have an inspiration.”

Johncy Agregado

Johncy admits that he doesn’t put too much thought into what he’s wearing. For him it’s what he feels comfortable in and what he thinks looks good on him. Johncy share his thoughts about his clothing sense: “It’s just an everyday outfit for me and nothing else. I’m not trying to be a punk rocker, or whatever you call it, with my clothes. It’s just basically who I am.”

Niko Dinglasan

Niko is wearing a plaid polo that was a gift from his girlfriend; the shirt he borrowed from Kelvin, the jeans and shoes are what he wears every day. His fashion inspiration is grunge.

Paolo Manuel

Paolo wears what he’s most comfortable in. And for any of his events, simplicity is the way to go. Actually, the shirt he’s wearing belongs to the bassist; he just forgot to return it. Fashion for him is the notion that life can be simplified no matter how crazy it gets. Be comfy first. Then be ready for anything!

Mark Serrano

A typical black shirt and beige pants is Mark’s get-up. His inspiration is comfort: “If I am at a gig, I have to be relaxed and comfortable.”

Paolo Rodriguez

Paolo is wearing a two-tone, long-sleeved Etnies shirt, blue jeans and brown Sketchers rubber shoes. His clothes are all about casual comfort.

LC

The vocalist, LC, wears his own designed short-sleeved custom-made casual barong undershirt by Toasted Shop; the pants were custom-made by himself; shoes by NSS and his hat is from Baguio. LC uses his hat on really hot days for commuting/walking around the metro or in light rain showers. LC’s inspiration for his look is the common worker on the street with the salakot mixing it with formal barongs (he designs his own) worn casually or for gigs and such. Being an active BMXer, he mixes elements of the “skatepark” look, preferring NSS shoes.

DJ Mark Nicoasia

DJ Mark is wearing his usual gig attire — suits and sneaks. He’s pretty much an “executive DJ” (that’s why you see him in a suit coat) but his office is in the club, that’s why it’s still a little bit dressed-down. Mark coined the word “comformal” to explain his look. “I know it’s not a word but I guess that’s how I decide to dress for my gigs. Good or formal enough to break the societal acceptance threshold yet comfortable enough to bust out some moves on the dance floor. The latter is when I don’t need society’s approval, just ‘cause the whole of it can’t move as well as the some in it.”

Johnny Alegre

Johnny often sports a John Lennon tee, leather jacket and fedora. “It’s something elegant but rugged. I basically dress according to my mood,” Johnny says.

Lakshmi Ramirez

Lakshmi is wearing a silk printed tie, buttoned suspenders, high-waisted 1040 slacks, Stacey Adams two-tone Dayton wingtip shoes and Murray’s pomade on his hair with his 1960 double bass named “Suzi.” His fashion pegs are pinstriped double-breasted mobster zootsuits and pachucos. He’d love to be living in the ‘40s to ‘50s era — the music, cars, fashion and swing, and the jiving lifestyle.

Ciro de Leon

Drummer Ciro wears custom-made pants, shoes by NSS and a plain, white shirt.

Mig Dayanghirang

Mig is wearing a vintage paisley shirt, flared pants and leather sandals. This outfit is his everyday get-up. Mig’s look is inspired by ‘70s rock bands, mixing it up with some modern elements.

Michael Alba

Michael wears smart-casual attire inspired by Ralph Lauren.

Karel Honasan

Karel is wearing a brown shirt, cargo pants, and Chucks for an earth-toned look.

Yosha

Yosha, the band’s vocalist, is wearing a black and white top with dots around the neck. This is what she usually wears during gigs. There’s one particular inspiration — comfort.

Nikko Rivera

Nikko prefers to go for the smart casual look.
