No real law was laid down, but the limited style options and the almost nonexistent market focus on the plus-sized niche made it a universal truth for several generations. The old rule of having to camouflage your body has now given way to sexy flashes of collarbone and décolletage. Shapeless muumuus have morphed to wonderfully structured pieces.
