Full-on style
Old fashion rules used to dictate that those who wanted to cover up secret flab had to hide under yards and yards of cloth — the looser, the better. No real law was laid down, but the limited style options and the almost nonexistent market focus on the plus-sized niche made it a universal truth for several generations. But now that every shape is celebrated and fashion has embraced the female form in all its wonderful incarnations, plus-sized and curvier women have just as many fashion options as every other body out there. The old rule of having to camouflage your body has now given way to sexy flashes of collarbone and décolletage. Shapeless muumuus have morphed to wonderfully structured pieces. Drab, dark hues have magically turned into delightful eye-popping color combinations. The modern truth is: fashion and style know no boundaries, in zip codes or in body types.
