How to choose the hunk of your dreams
Unless you’ve been confined in a windowless room for the past few weeks without TV, newspapers or Internet or just really, really, extremely oblivious, you would know by now about Pond’s gargantuan project that has brought two of the dreamiest men together — one from each network — into one spectacular promo. You probably know that, through their new breakthrough product, Pond’s White Beauty, the beauty brand is offering women, ages 18 to 35, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to spend one night with Dingdong Dantes or Piolo Pascual for the date of their dreams. It’s all over town: on TV, the news, that huge billboard along EDSA, those sigh-inducing, swoon-prompting commercials.
You probably even have the necessary requirements ready: a recent colored half-body photo, an empty pack of any Pond’s White Beauty product, and all your basic information and contact details neatly written out on scented stationery. And because you’re a huge Pond’s fan, you probably already have that fair, pinkish glow that Pond’s White Beauty’s lycopene-infused line has been raving about. You know this is the kind of excitement you’ve been waiting for all your life. The only thing you don’t know: who to choose? You can always ask for both, but I do think Ponds’ generosity will only extend so far. You can flip a coin or draw lots but you can’t really leave the perfect date all to chance, right?
So this is where I come in.
An informal one-on-two interview with both Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual has afforded a brief glimpse on how a date with each one would go. Though both can dazzle with good looks and a surplus of charm, their differences in personality assures that each one will give you a completely different experience.
They answer questions differently, for one. Dingdong is quick and teasing; you’ll think he won’t care whether you get the joke or not but his eyes actually challenge you to give an equally witty comeback. Piolo is more reserved; he wants to give you his answer, not just one that’d you’d expect from every other male matinee idol.
When Piolo looks at you, you feel everyone else in the room fade away; when Dingdong looks at you, you feel privy to some funny little secret. Piolo is intense, a slow thrill that creeps up your spine; Dingdong is relaxed and easygoing, causing a girlish blush to fan across your cheeks and eventually warm you right down to your toes. Dingdong is the jock with brains; Piolo, the winsome dreamer. Dingdong grins; Piolo lazily smiles.
Both of them will make you feel that you’re the only girl that matters at that moment.
