It all began with Peter Som’s resort collection for Bill Blass. The diminutive designer plumbed the archives of Blass and came up with a refreshing selection of apparel seemingly inspired by the luminous ladylike figures who made all-American fashion famous. Think Jackie O. Crisp wide-leg trousers, printed scarves wrapped jauntily about the neck, natty blazers, striped tees and classy cardis were statement-making separates.
