The shopper In full bloom
Now that she’s opened her boutique at Greenbelt 5, Kate Torralba seems to be working double-time trying to fill up her space with livelier designs, not-quite-subtle doses of art and pieces that fully submit to her signature.
If the diminutive designer is known for something, it would be her penchant for making anything flirty and feminine from fabric abundantly festooned with prints, to coming up with a matching bag for every creation.
Even her daintiest pieces don’t escape the corresponding accessory. Take this pretty, pastel-colored floral tunic. Worn alone on a humid May afternoon or with a white peacoat during the surprise monsoons that have been hitting this summer month, this piece and the wristlet it comes with is signature Kate Toralba down to the last stitch. The spring bouquet print is given sweeter stabbings with delicate lace crochet bib detail. Lavender, to boot.
