Spa means  I love you

- Bea J. Ledesma -

Before you dust off those yellowed Hallmark cards you’ve hoarded over the past few years in the hopes that a scribbled “Love ya!” will do the trick this Mother’s Day, take a minute and think of the nine grueling months your mother spent carrying you in her womb (not to mention the hours she spent in the delivery room) and try something new this year.

Take the lady out and treat her to something classy and nice. (And, no, a box of Krispy Kreme isn’t enough. After years of mending your Girl Scout uniform, you reward Mom with doughnuts?)

Neo Spa’s Mother’s Day treat helps you celebrate the lady in your life with Mosaic Rejuvenate package, consisting of Decleor oxygenating facial and Decleor aroma body massage. The rejuvenating treatment begins with a soothing 10-minute back, hand and arm massage. Decleor’s Aromessence Relax Balm, with hints of myrrh, sandalwood and frankincense essential oils, sets the tone. Its de-stressing and insomnia-relieving properties mark the balm as a starter course for the luxe spa set.

The Decleor oxygenating facial with ylang-ylang flower, a classic facial that makes use of pure aromatherapy products, provides ample improvement on the skin front, brightening your complexion and leaving it free of impurities.

Utilizing relaxing hand movements, the spa attendant begins by wiping the face clear of makeup. Eye makeup remover lotion goes over the lids, cleansing milk over the face and finished with a toning lotion to rebalance the skin’s PH level and rid skin of excess cleanser.

Exfoliation follows immediately using a velvet peel infused with essential oils, plant micro fibers and enzymes. The ingredients draw out the impurities, exfoliate the dermis and leave skin looking refreshed and vibrant.

The fourth step involves aromapressure, a touch-sensitive technique marked by the use of ylang-ylang oil, which has been part of Decleor’s medicine cabinet since 1978. The purifying concentrate, meant for oily or combination skin, reduces excess oil and helps heal small imperfections. Aromadrainage and aromassage follows immediately. With the help of active ingredients like ylang-ylang, tea tree oil, hazelnut and jojoba waxes and calming light-pressured movements over the face target excess sebum. Pore tightening follows, with the Aroma Purete instant purifying mask, which regulates oil production, mattifies, tightens pores and refines the texture of skin. The use of white clay in the mask, applied over a fine layer of woven fabric, purify and rebalance the skin’s PH levels, while providing much-needed hydration.

The treatment is finished with a light application of matt finish skin fluid, which contains pro-vitamin B5. The final step leaves skin soothed and protected against harsh environmental elements like pollution.

Once you and Mom are done with the treatment, whiling away the rest of the afternoon sipping Neo Spa’s post-massage complimentary tea, you can finally turn to her, after she’s spent the past decade moaning about your lack of motherly affection, and tell her, “Now we’re even.” Or you could just say, “I love you.”
