Belles of the Opera Ball

At the annual Opera Ball, debutantes looked amazing wearing gowns that reflect their personality. Long and flowing dresses were common choices for the pre-ball cocktail. The color palette was light, pastel and summery, which definitely suited the girls’ age and personality.  Minimal and classic was the choice for accessories: dazzling diamond, gold and pearl earrings and necklaces plus elegant clutches.

The yearly event hosted by the Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines is always worth seeing.  The debutantes waltzed their way to being presented to society.  The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, Ernest Hoetzl, Ana Guillen Feleo, Nolyn Cabahug and George Yang  serenaded the gues with their world-class music.  Chefs from The Mandarin Oriental were responsible for the mouth-watering food.  Funds raised from the black tie gala affair will go to a good cause: charity and arts.   

Isabel Palabyab

Isabel wears a dress by Adrianna Papell from Rustan’s. The gown is  elaborate as it is so she accessorizes with simple diamond studs. Her inspiration for the night  was old Hollywood glam.

Carla Humphries

Carla wore a gown by Alexander Bitong from his boutique in Rockwell. The earrings — barrel- shaped pearl and rose- carved coral pieces with diamonds — are from her mother.

Maiqui Laurel

Maiqui wears a gown designed by Cathy Binag. The designer also provided the earrings and the shoes.

Alexandra Romualdez

Alexandra was inspired by the color blue and wears a dress by Tani Bautista of Infini. The jewelry,  aquamarine earrings and bracelets are from her own collection.

Myra Sy

Myra wears an Asian- inspired dress designed by Patis Tesoro with gold coin jewelry.

Katrina Manas

Katrina wears a Sue Wong gown from Neiman Marcus, paired with Filipino- designed and handcrafted gold and pearl drop earrings.

Kristen Ponce Enrile

Kristen wears a Cary Santiago gown. This self-confessed fashionista  dresses up depending on her mood. Her   style pegs include Mary-Kate Olsen, Nicole Richie and her cousin Ina Ponce Enrile, designer of  the fashion line Duerr.

Lourisse Miller

Lourisse wears a gown from The House of Laurel with a bag from Aranaz, shoes from Louis Vuitton and the custom-made earrings. She pegs her style after Katie Holmes.

Cristina Afzeuus

Cristina wears a gown that her sister bought off- the-rack from Target with cubic zirconia earrings  by Anne Klein. She to likes keep her style simple and elegant.
