Eye on the prize - MEANWHILE By Michelle Katigbak

-

A prize is, by definition, one of three things: 1. A reward for victory or superiority; 2. Something that is won in a contest or the like; or 3. anything striven for, worth striving for, or much-valued. It can be any one or more of those definitions. A few weeks ago, though, at the hottest beach party of the summer, Bora Bound 6, the newest member of the Motorola mobile family, the MotoRazr Maxx V6, was a prize that fit all three definitions.

It was a reward for victory to be sure. Indeed, it went to the team who racked up the most points in the two-day games bonanza on the beach. It was something won in a contest — or rather a mini-marathon of endurance and beach game skill. And finally it was, and is, definitely something striven for, worth striving for, and much-valued. And why shouldn’t it be? The newest Razr in the Moto group is the latest in advanced mobile technology. Blending cutting-edge design and the power of high-speed connectivity, the MotoRazr Maxx V6 satisfies the appetite of even the most demanding consumer. An eye-catching, ultra-thin design displays its pedigree Razr phone lineage. With high-end finishes that include a futuristic blend of metal and glass and touch-sensitive music keys that illuminate, the MotoRazr Maxx V6 comes to life right in your hand and is one of the smallest broadband phones available.

The best way to describe this must-have cellular phone is to say it is ultimate luxury backed by ultimate convenience. Hands-free Bluetooth wireless technology keeps you connected while High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) and EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution) technology makes broadband available for blazing-fast downloads, e-mail access and Internet browsing. What’s more, the MotoRazr Maxx V6’s two-way video calling at 15 frames per second provides a dynamic and very personal way to share “face time” with family, friends, and loved ones!  And that’s just the icing on the cake! Completing the MotoRazr Maxx V6’s unparalleled combination of premium features, a rich host of multimedia features are set to keep you entertained. From the powerful 2.0 mega pixel camera to video capture and video sharing, the MotoRazr Maxx V6 allows you to capture, store and share memories effortlessly. Blending style, functionality and entertainment effortlessly, the MotoRazr Maxx V6 indeed makes staying stylish — and staying in touch — look easy and look great! (After all, who can deny that it is a pretty piece of machinery?)

So, while I have never participated in the full-blown range of fun and exciting games that is a Bora Bound staple, I decided this year I was going to go the distance! Why not, when there’s such a great prize to win in the end? I was ready to run, jump, swim, dance and do a plethora of fun, embarrassing and exciting things to nab that baby! After all, I have been a Motorola fan for years. Ever since I first spotted the silver MotoRazr V3 being used by Sydney Bristow on Alias I thought to myself, “I have to have that phone!” That was shortly followed by an upgrade to the V3i, which is equally stunning and functional. And now, I totally had my eye set on the Motorola’s latest amazing prize!

So, like all the other sun-worshippers enjoying Bora Bound (and the delicious Haagen-Dazs summer flavor, Berries and Cream), I ran, I swam, I played dodge ball and volleyball, ate huge pieces of singkamas (you had to be there!), and raced to the finish line to win the prize. And did our team win, you ask? I’m not going to say. That could be because I don’t want to gloat or because I’m just in denial that we didn’t win. Either way, I know now that the Maxx V6 and I were destined to meet – much like Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. And for those of you out there like me looking for a great phone with amazing features that is sleek, slim and sophisticated — look no further. This is the phone for you!
