Hay naku! In show business, I am everybody’s Tito! (You know how Pinoys are, calling everyone tito and tita, not because of age but out of respect.) But in this case, I really don’t mind as it’s Angel Locsin, showbiz’s "it" girl, who’s calling me that. I haven’t seen her in ages so it was a real treat for me to spend some time with this super-charming girl. She’s wearing a simple outfit – dark blue sleeveless top, khaki capri shorts and flip-flops – but she still has that star quality. And when two stars like us get together, we really shine! (Me and my delusions of stardom!)

During our chitchat, I learned that she had just wrapped up her TV fantaserye Majika and was super-duper excited over her movie TXT, which she did with two hotties, boyfriend Oyo Boy Sotto and Dennis Trillo. Lucky girl! Of course, nobody could ever miss Angel’s face with all her TV commercials, print ads and various other endorsements. She’s really on the right track to superstardom and there’s no stopping her.

One proof of this is how her chemistry works whenever she’s paired with other male stars like Piolo Pascual. Their very successful team-up for global watch brand Timex brand has really increased her star power. "Imagine being paired with the Piolo Pascual!" she says with a girlish giggle. "He was already Piolo Pascual way before I entered showbiz so just imagine my reaction when Timex said we’d work together!" I’d probably scream as well if I was going to be working with Piolo! Whatever!

But more than just giving her the chance to work with Piolo (definitely one the best young actors in showbiz in my opinion), Angel is grateful to be part of the Timex family. "I really appreciate just how well they treat me and how supportive they are," she says with a smile. For the last taping day of Majika, Angel wanted to give gifts to her fellow cast members and the crew as a sign of appreciation. She shyly made a request to Timex asking if they could provide a few watches. The next day, the watches came, all beautifully wrapped. It touched the young actress’s heart deeply. "I know the watches don’t come cheap, but they still said yes to my request and the people I gave the watches to were so happy," she shares.

Timex watches really fit Angel’s lifestyle and busy, busy schedule. Thanks to all the different styles of watches, she’s able to mix and match them to her mood and fashion style. "With all the roles I play, I really have to have a lot of choices when it comes to accessories." Being a simple girl, a watch is already a fashion statement for her. "Iba talaga ang dating pag maganda ang watch mo," she points out. People notice it whenever she wears her favorite Timex timepieces. If she’s in a feminine mood, she would choose something from the Timex Ladies’ collection while for some of her scenes in her shows, she often picked out the more masculine ones with big faces. "I never have problems picking out the right watch for the right outfit. All my watches just look good with everything!" she says, beaming. Her particular favorite is the Timex Perpetual Calendar watch since she never has to worry about setting it every time. The Perpetual Calendar model automatically maintains the correct date regardless of the number of days in the month and leap years.

At her recent photo shoot for Timex, I witnessed just how much the camera loves this girl! She played and posed before the cameras like a pro and each shot came out picture-perfect! One minute, she was dressed in an ultra-gorgeous wine-red strapless gown and the next, she was a rocker chick, complete with heavy eyeliner. With all those costume changes, I never even saw her make a fuss about how tired she was. To think that she just came from a taping that ended early in the morning!

When it comes to fashion, Angel admits that she really doesn’t follow any particular trend. She tells me that she finds it fun to look at all those young Hollywood stars like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan but doesn’t consciously copy their look. She describes her fashion style as simple although she wrote in our Proust Questionnaire that she’d like to look like Angelina Jolie! This girl is really full of surprises!

While she knows that being a celebrity means dressing up a lot – like when she does pictorials for magazine covers – there are still times when she feels awkward. Awkward? Angel Locsin? "Totoo talaga!" she swears. "Sometimes, I’m asked to wear something that I never really wore before so I’ll look different. But I feel a little uncomfortable because I would never pick these clothes ‘cause that’s really not me." When asked what her real style is, she points to what she’s wearing – T-shirt, jeans and flip-flops – and says with a grin: "This one!"
