With the schoolyear about to ring its first term bell, this is the time of year when we hope to re-emerge into our social environment as butterflies, with a new look that shows weve had a killer summer. Makeup is always a big help when youre trying to freshen things up for the schoolyear. The trick is never to use too much. Here are a couple simple looks and a few tips that will make your first day of school a head-turning one.
Neutral colors and light eyeliner are always a great way to get that slightly more serious and grown-up look. If you want to get that classic look then take dark shadow like Sugar Babys metallic dark blue powder and use it only above the eyelid. A pencil can be too much for school and crème pencils like Sugar Babys metallic gray line and shine are great as a light eyeshadow. For lips, try a cool deep color, like a frosted brown. As with all three looks, one thing I must stress is, while color always brightens up your face and brings a little more life to your look, moderation is always the key.
Dont let makeup overpower you or you could very much end up a cabaret disaster. And another thing, face powder is good for taking away shine and hiding those little imperfections but, heaven forbid, please dont get used to the kabuki look. And make sure that whatever shade youre using is the right one, as your face and neck should never look like they came from two separate bodies.
If you want to glam your look up a bit and go with something slightly sultrier then dont be afraid to go with a darker shade although jet black eyeshadow and super smoky liner might be a tad much. Go for turquoise or metallic green. Sugar Babys metallic turquoise loose powder gives you just the right amount of sparkle.
Sugar Baby is available at Rustans Essenses at Glorietta 4 and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.
