A sultry summer night with Guerlain

Rustan’s Makati sizzled as Luxasia Inc. brought new life to a classic brand when they re-launched Guerlain with an exclusive cocktail and fashion show.

Lounge tunes set the mood as guests were welcomed by Luxasia’s general manager Mia Cuenca and senior product manager for Guerlain, Vanessa Mayuga. Jackie Cohen-Antonio and Liza Ilarde-Cuenca were singled out as perfect examples of Terracotta summer beauty and went home with the entire summer bronzing collection. Mia Borromeo was chosen as the "Lady of the Night" because of her innate elegance, style, and grace and was presented with a special gift from Tiffany’s while Rina Roman of Rustan’s cosmetics division was the lucky recipient of a Samsung X700 that was raffled off. While some mingled, others were treated to free makeovers using the wide array of Guerlain products available.

The highlight of the evening, however, was a fashion show that featured Guerlain’s Terracotta Collection 2006. Thanks to the Terracotta bronzing makeup, models Borgy Manotoc, Ornussa Cadness, Valerie delos Santos, Robby Mananquil, Angel Agustin and Paolo Cabalfin glowed as they showed off some of this season’s most coveted clothes and accessories from Tiffany&Co, Montblanc, Loungerie Lux, Rustan’s Resort Wear, Aranaz Bags, and Substance Footwear. The show, conceptualized by budding stylists LA Consing Reyes and Jane Tan-Manglapus, evoked everything that one might need for a perfect summer night – good company, an enviable tan that you don’t have to bake under the sun for, and a chic ensemble.

Famed for its uncompromising quality, Guerlain has been a part of Filipino women’s makeup kits for quite some time now. Whether you are young or old, it’s difficult to resist the chance to be beautiful with these products. As the Moet & Chandon champagne flowed and the canapés by Cibo sat beside them, those who witnessed the event were reminded of how chic, vibrant, and timeless Guerlain truly is.
