A weekend getaway of sun, sea and sand
February 3, 2006 | 12:00am
Taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Manila life, Motorola recently invited guests to join them at the most relaxing resort in Bora-dise, Nami. This beautifully-designed resort, strategically situated on the remote cliffs of the stunning Boracay canvas, was the venue for the spectacular weekend.
The weekend kicked off with a quirky and glamorous dress-up cocktail party, creatively themed Giligans Island, called Shipwrecked Glam. Gals and guys at Nami came decked out in their finest marooned couture, sporting pirate hats, shredded fabric and buccaneer jewelry. It was a true feast for the senses, with a delectable buffet of sea fare and flowing bubbly being poured into glasses by each guests personal butler, coincidentally and aptly called a nami.
The highlight of the evening came with the introduction of five of the newest handsets from Motorola: The Slvr, Pebl, pink Razr, Razr V3i, and Rokr E2. These fabulous phones were given to the Nami guests, with each phone intended to complement each individual personality. Motorola provided guests with revolutionary mobile devices that brought cutting-edge technology to their very fingertips.
"Everything about Nami reflects the Moto ethos of being non-traditional and avant-garde," says Mari Litonjua, Motorolas head of marketing. "Nothing in Nami is mainstream, from the service provided to the people invited. Guests at the event are those who work hard and play hard, and are successful in their own right."
The Nami resort in Boracay truly gave Moto visitors more than just your run-of-the-mill weekend beach holiday. A 24-hour massage service and all-out buffet were offered to all the guests and the laid-back do-as-you-please atmosphere was the icing on the delectable Nami cake. No rules, just relaxation
Nami-Moto year four was made possible by Nami Resorts, Motorola, Smart Infinity and SEAir. It was also supported by Shu Uemura, Kerastase, Veuve Clicquot, Ralph Cool, Polo Blue, Acqua di Gio, Havaianas, Tanqueray, Sasha Sailing Club and Bells & Blooms by Izy Jingco for the flowers and venue setup.

Mari Litonjua
What did you do in the beach while wearing your Motorola Razrwire shades?
I stayed connected with everyone since Razrwire has Bluetooth connectivity, so I can talk to anyone without wires or my phone now that is seamless mobility.
Ciara Sevilla
How do you protect your Slvr L6 while at the beach?
I buy the inexpensive clear phone jacket with zippers which you can buy at any local mall. It makes texting and calling a bit more difficult but it does a good job of keeping sand and seawater away from my phone.
AJ Jones
Who was the first person you took a photo of with your Razr V3i?
My friend Scott used my phone to take a photo of Pepper Teehankee while we were all having a good time at Nuvo.
Bryan Boy Yambao
What feature of your mobile phone do you enjoy most ?
I love how sleek and ultra slim my Moto Razr is. Lightweight and compact, it reminds me of my skinny, fabulous body during my heyday.
JM Rodriguez
Aside from calling and texting, what else can your V3i Rzr do?
Its got iTunes and an expandable memory card so I can use it as an iPod. But most of the time, I use it as a flash light to look for my stuff in my car because its LCD is bright enough to go through all the trash thats piled up in my glove compartment.
Denise Haak
What image would you use as screen saver for your black Razr?
A photo of my son and me in Boracay. It is a constant reminder of what really matters in life.
Tessa Dragon
How did you capture the weekend fun at Moto-Nami using your hot pink Razr?
I downloaded music on my phone to remind me of our weekend.
