Play like a holiday winner

CHEERS! - DJ Montano -
It’s that time of the year when you often catch yourself looking at the contents of your closet saying, "Darn, I don’t have anything to wear tonight!" December’s just so full of revelry. There are so many celebrations, events and weddings that can cause stress fashion-wise. The month’s quite a style playground and you’ve got to have a serious plan of attack if you want to shine. It’s time to whip out the plastic and hit the stores. Add some holiday glitter to your wardrobe by checking out boutiques with great stuff for the season. I recently went to Playhound by Greyhound, now at Glorietta 3, and saw plenty of nice pieces that’ll definitely keep you a la mode this season.

Greyhound was started 25 years ago by a group of Thai designers in Bangkok. It’s become so successful that they now have a host of stores across Asia. Playhound is the more casual and hip label of Greyhound. For this season, their collection’s rich with checked and striped patterns. There are also a lot of embellisments and whimsical prints on tops. Colors vary. There’s the classic black, and then some rich and sensual colors like plum and chestnut. The clothes often blend fabric like cotton with silk and wool. What’s key to the season is layering. Both men’s and women’s collections have a number of cardigans and sweatshirts that you can wear over tees or polos. It makes for an interesting look to mix checks with stripes, and contrast rich colors with dull ones. So come out and play this season, decked in Playhound wear, and you’re likely to look quite the winner.
