A revolution on the island

CIRCUIT TRAINING - JR Isaac -
The Pond’s Face Revolution event in Plazoleta, Boracay was the launch pad for their new product: Pond’s Anti-Bacterial scrub. Ponds picked the perfect setting – and timing – for this launch since oil-free skin is hard to maintain during the hot and humid season. The night was kicked off by fire dancers and jugglers native to the island, accompanied by bongos and other percussion instruments. The show was hosted by Angel Jacob while celebrities like Bianca King, Camille Prats, Marco Alcaraz and Luis Alandy demonstrated the revolutionary new ways to wash your face, namely: the forehead swipe, eye orbiter, and the cheek sweep. Pond’s models Kelly Misa, Georgina Wilson, Nicole Hernandez, and Nadja Cross, the latest in their roster of image models, graced the catwalk. Swimsuits from the newest swimwear label Mynx were presented to the crowd, modeled by Ornusa Cadness, Nicolette Belle, Valerie Santos, Brent Javier and Borgy Manotoc.

Karla Alindahao

How do you keep yourself fresh during summer?

I take a shower as much as I can and wear summer-friendly clothing.

Nadja Cross

How do you keep your face supple and smooth despite the heat and dryness during summer?

I make sure that I wash my face and moisturize every night.

Luke Jickain

What would you rather see when you’re at the beach, the sunrise or the sunset?

I think the sunset because I’m not really a morning person and I haven’t seen the sunrise in five years. Plus, the sunset is more romantic.

Tim Yap

What is the hottest thing about summer this year?

Sand in your underwear!

Stef Cabal

What beach sounds do you listen to while sipping margaritas at the beach?

Moony’s Fly Away and Dove are my favorite, but any chill-out music is good.

Valerie Delos Santos

Do you prefer to have matte or glossy lips when you’re at the beach?

Glossy because I don’t want my lips to look dry. I want them to look sexy and moist.

Kat Cruz

What's your best Boracay buy?

A beaded necklace I found that was very different from the usual ones that you see around here.

Jasmin Joseph

What would make a perfect beach trip?

When the beach is empty and it’s just you and your friends, it seems so serene and peaceful.

Bubbles Paraiso

What have you seen on this beach trip that you think should’ve been left at home?

People in gimmick attire that are really for Manila and not Boracay, like clothes made of silk material and stilettos-heeled shoes!

Melissa Frye

What makes life a beach?

Getting a tan all day and partying with friends all night.

Rebecca Rodriguez

What are your top three necessities for the summer?

SPF and sunglasses for sun protection for your skin and eyes, a peasant top because it matches with everything you wear, and lip balm to keep my lips from chapping.

KC Montero

Would you rather spend your summer in a hut at the beach or a cabin in the Alps?

A cabin in the Alps because I’ve never been to the Alps and besides I am already at the beach.

Camille Prats

What is the ultimate beach accessory this summer?

Havaianas because these are not hot on your feet even when under the sun.

Charmaine Palermo

What must-have beauty products do you have in your bag?

Lip balm and cheek tint so I glow even when I'm not really wearing makeup.

Mikee Gonzales

What is the best fashion discovery for you this summer?

The knitted or see-through ponchos worn over the bikini because it’s simple yet very sexy at the same time.

Jay-R

Would you rather date a well-read woman or a well-dressed one?

Well-read, definitely. Brains over beauty.
