Party dressing lite

Its delilah monsoon for all stylish Christmas elves! From deadlines to be met before vacation time, to hopping from one fete to another, to finishing your Christmas list and checking it twice and from juggling whether to be naughty or nice this season for giving can surely be tiring.
However, that does not mean that spent little you should go looking like Eponine from Les Miserables. After all true style comes without much of an effort. Festive frocks call for diaphanous fabrics, alternately tangoing with steady lines in jersey and wool.
K & Co. can prove to be your new best friend as it is a Toys r Us of sensible party wear (whether day or night). Well, you may think sensible is such a boring word but look at the giants that epitomize it like Armani and Klein. Katherine Cheng, a self taught designer and the heart and soul of K & Co. believes in timeless style. "These are things that you will find in your closet year after year," she says to me when I first met her. Indeed, these clothes do not have the qualities of a starlet, rather it reminds you much of Jodie Foster when you first saw her in Taxi Driver. No-nonsense, incredibly promising and has the makings of earning a Yale diploma-- that's the K & Co. girl.
Daphne Osena is the spokesperson of the line. She herself is a fashion guru of the F triad, managing editor of Metro Bride, most importantly the mother of Sophia Rose and loving partner to her award-winning husband Patrick Paez (who risked his life in Afghanistan on assignment as an ABS-CBN reporter). For a woman who wears a handful of hats, she likes how K & Co. can cater for each facet in her eclectic lifestyle.
1) Intelligent garments respond well with accessories. Meaning you can change the look of your dress with layering a couple of beads or perhaps a cuff and earrings. Try to experiment with belts as well. You will be surprised with what you can come up with.
2) Step on the wild side. Shoes can really put some attitude to your look or tone it down for formal events. Experiment with hosiery this season as well. Think patterned lace and fishnets with open toed shoes really!
3) Don't be afraid to wear evening frocks during the day given that they are free of bling-bling quality beadwork. Most evening frocks lend endless glamour to tea and lunch affairs! When doing the opposite, try to give dresses an edge by mixing them with au courrant neon pumps or leather accessories such as cuffs and chokers.
4) Dont be a slave of seasons. We live in a tropical country so you can wear white in the dead of the so called winter season and pastels at the heart of fall. Enjoy dressing up it makes up half for of the party after all!
