The Pad

The cult movie American Psycho begins with a scene of Patrick Bateman (played by a very buff and very GQ Christian Bale) in his swanky New York pad set in the 1980s. Patrick does a monologue while going through his morning ritual: "I believe in taking care of myself in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser then a honey-almond body scrub." The scene is a perfect tribute to today's metrosexual.

A metrosexual is a dandyish narcissist in love with not only himself, but also his urban lifestyle, a straight man who is in touch with his feminine side. Today, men's fashion variety have expanded tremendously . Just look at the expanding store space allotted for men's clothing at your favorite boutique. The metrosexual fears not to wear headbands (David Beckham), women's size jeans (a few petite straight guy friends of mine) and skirts (again, David Beckham). Expand your sense of style and you'll notice the same happen to your little black book. There is life beyond polo and khakis. Cheers.
