1. Yellow gold shoes: The funny thing about fashion is that you can scoff at it one minute and be on the waitlist for it the next. The John Travolta of fashion may well be the yellow gold shoes of the disco era. It complements the mellow spring season collections, but you dont have to wait long to wear it. Its a hit with party outfits as well! Pair with an electric colored bag to avoid being tres cheesy.
2. Electric youth: The Guy Bourdin boom left more than just a resurrection of mainstream perversion in the fashion editorials. In its wake the great Charles Jourdan ad photog also left a rabid desire to don neon colored shoes. Best when worn with a contrasting shade (study your color wheel!), dont be shy about being flashy! After all the only way to get dressed is to be overdressed!
3. Resort chic: It is said that during the ber months the most luxurious thing to sport is a golden tan. Whether faked or baked, a perfect accessory is a shoe with whimsical prints with a Capri or South of France feel. These happy prints work well with the sober shades of fall and winter wear. They also look great with equally jovial stripes, checks and florals if you dare. And of course we all do dont we?
4. Crystal clear: Lucite and PVC embelished stillettos clearly satisfies any shoe addict who has ever dreamed of being Cinderella. Whether all out translucent like the Rochas heels of last season (just because its last season it doesnt mean its not cool anymore you know), or the more timeless version of Christian Louboutin, having a clear idea on how to play the damsel in distress is all up to you!
5. Taking baby steps: Hansel and Gretel got themselves in trouble because of some gingerbread. Now you can be walking trouble with the footwear equivalent of gingerbread. Sugary sweet platforms and stilettos are a perfect partner for the serious garb of party season. Bring out the Baby spice (she really was the cutest) in you and stomp around Lolita style in every party. Dont forget to suck on a lolly (take that last line any way you want!).
