Going to the Globe XTM

-
The beautiful denizens of Manila gathered at Neo Metro a.k.a The Manila Polo Club recently for a night of music, overflowing drinks and good ol’ high-tech fun as Globe Telecom unveiled its newest and probably most exciting service feature to date — the Globe XTM (extra-long text and e-mail on the run).

The revelry kicked off with the mysterious Mr. G introducing the fantabulous trio of computer whiz Iya, black belter Sami, and party animal Mico. Amid the smoky haze and the subdued techno music, the Globe XTM Team, in full anime garb first introduced in the original TVC, displayed the latest innovations in cell phone service technology.

Iya, with her trademark purple shades, extolled Globe XTM’s extra-long text feature that allows you to send text messages of up to 480 characters – all for only P1! This way, your message will not get broken up into a series of three messages that will cost you more than usual.

For funky party poster boy Mico, it’s the unlimited picture messaging feature that allows you to really express what you’re feeling should words prove insufficient. There’s an eclectic array of picture messages especially conceptualized for various occasions. Each costs only P1.

And Sami, who’s a dead ringer for DragonBall Z’s three-eyed Tien, shared the amazing e-mail on the run feature which lets you check your mail wherever, whenever you want, minus having to log on to a computer. It also lets you send a 480-character e-mail and receive up to a thousand characters from any e-mail address around the globe – may it be computer or mobile. Your Globe number automatically becomes your e-mail address, or you can even choose to personalize it. This will also cost you only P1.

Who would’ve thought a peso still amounts to something these days?!

Citizens of Neo Metro, clad in an all-black ensemble, gave the guests a taste of the new Globe XTM services. Ten lucky guests even won free cell phones (Nokia 3510, Ericsson T200 and Trium Mystral), all of which are equipped with the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) technology that made Globe XTM possible.

Hosted by the ever-dynamic Tim Yap, who came in full anime mode, the party soon reached a fevered pitch when DJ DNX and Thrilla took to the turntables and dished out one pumping dance music after another, capping an ext2rme night of Globe XTM fun.

So, gear up for faster communications, in more Xciting days ahead – with Globe XTM.
