An eye for the hip & cool

Rudy Project gave eyewear aficionados a first peek at their 2003 Technically Cool Eyewear Collection with a star-studded fashion show.

Having been in the eyewear scene since 1985, Rudy Project was founded by Rudy Barbazza whose goal was to create technologically advanced and innovative eyewear catering to extreme sports men.

During the launch, Rudy Project hosted a party at the Elbow Room at The Podium to welcome Manila’s party-hungry crowd. This was followed by an all-out fashion show highlighting the new collection and sports line. The powerhouse cast included top ramp mannequins and popular athletes as well. Seen sashaying on the ramp were Alaska’s Tim Cone, Ali Peek, Don Allado and Rob Duat. Other athletes like Bing Alto, Kaye Lopez, Popo Nagtalon, Sandra Araullo and Peter Gonzales (from rowing, down hill biking, triathlon and swimming) showcased Rudy Project’s sports wear. The beautiful, young models were Bianca Araneta, Rissa Samson, Claudine Trillo, Clara Balaguer, Robby Mananquil and Valerie de los Santos. Well-known sports buffs and TV hosts Dyan Castillejo and Anthony Suntay were the evening’s hosts.

Rudy Project’s Cristiano Barbazza, president; Claudio Fantin, export manager; David Michaud, designer flew in all the way from Italy just to help celebrate!

Rudy Project’s latest collection is available at its outlets at Glorietta 4, Alabang Town Center, The Podium, SM Davao and SM Cebu.
