Paolo Trillo: Paradox Perfected
October 3, 2002 | 12:00am
They say there are always two sides to a coin. It would be the understatement of the year to say that the same principle applies to sportscaster, analyst, and bar manager Paolo Trillo. He is often caught covering a wide variety of sports events for Viva Vintage Sports and the NBN PBL Games. On top of all his TV work, he still finds the energy to manage the hip and happening bar, Pravda. Meeting various people, interviewing prominent figures in the sports industry, and maintaining good public relations for Pravda is a confirmation to the one side of Paolo's coin the spells ‘Extreme Extrovert’. His line of work explains why he has become as articulate and well versed as the Classical Greek philosophersâ€â€Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates. In fact, his analysis does not end in sports matters alone. Paolo's theoretical analysis on the local dating scene is comparable to a specimen put under the microscope. According to the Trillo Theory of Dating, taking a girl out would assure widespread rumors, scrutiny from every corner of the city, and worse case scenario…a very bad reputation at the end of the day. His theory goes alongside the law of stereotyping, which follows that it is perfectly acceptable for a girt to test the waters whereas a guy doing the exact same thing becomes, to most if not all, walking bad news.
So, how does this analyst propose to solve the dilemma? The formula, a line drawn between the extroverted nature of work and an introverted personal dating style. Paradox? True. The more personal dating philosophy of Paolo consists of three elementsâ€â€a quiet dinner, good movie, and coffee. The rationale? Dating is a get-away from the fuss and noise of the keen and often critical eye of the scene. Therefore, this social butterfly enjoys and often prefers the comforts of his cocoon where he can lay back, relax, and be the innate introvert that he also is. With all this irony, however, it would only require two things combined to get this guy's attentionâ€â€a dazzling smile that could prove the world isn't round after all, and an overdose of charm strong enough to defeat the pull of gravity.

What is a foolproof conversation piece that would spice up the date?
Talk about Boracay!!!
What are the bloopers that often arise in dates?
When I find myself eating sloppily.
Meeting the parents: horror or honor?
Actually, it’s a bit of both. It’s horrifying because parents can read right through me at same time it could be an honor because it give me an idea how my date would look 30 years from now.
What spells a dating disaster?
It’s a disaster when my date wears way too much make-up.
Instant chemistry: existent or extinct?
Very existent. Trust me, you'll feel it!
When do you feel the need to make things ‘official’?
I would pop the question when I feel that both of us are ready for a commitment.
