Robbie Williams to perform at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2002

- From the Philippine Star’s YS -
Robbie Williams is the first artist to be announced as live performer in this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards 2002 in Barcelona on Nov. 14. This was according to Brent Hansen, president and CEO of MTV Networks Europe.

Robbie will sing the first single Feel from his eagerly anticipated album "Escapology," which will be released on Nov. 18. After working in LA over the past few months, Robbie is back and promises a spectacular performance at the 10,000-capacity Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.

According to Hansen, Robbie Williams is part of what is guaranteed to be a stunning lineup for this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. "We have supported Robbie throughout his career as a solo artist and we are proud that Robbie’s first-ever live performance from ‘Escapology’ will be held in our world-famous award show."

As host, performer, presenter, nominee and winner, Robbie is no stranger to the MTV Europe Music Awards with ten solo nominations and three unforgettable live performances under his belt since 1994 and an outrageous stint as host at the ‘96 MTV Europe Music Awards in addition to three victories as a solo artist — Best Male (2001), Best Song for Rock DJ (2000) and Best Male (1998).

Sponsored by D&G, Vodafone, Foot Locker and American Express, the fully-integrated event is entering its 9th year and will be broadcast live from the Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona on Nov. 14, Thursday at 21:00 to 23:00 CET to a potential worldwide audience of 1 billion viewers.

On MTV Philippines, the MTV Europe Awards 2002 premieres on Nov. 30, Saturday at 9 pm, and with a repeat on Dec. 1, Sunday at 2 pm.
