Standing in front of the mirror, all dolled up in your cutest outfit yet not having a clue what to do with your hair can be one of the worst dilemmas for a girl! After all, the hair is a girl’s crowning glory and how to fix your mane can either make or break your look. If you can’t decide whether you should let your hair loose or tie it up in a neat ponytail, you can finally stop worrying because we’ve come up with six of the hottest hairstyles that are so easy to do, yet give that "I-just-stepped-out-of-the-parlor" look!

Sleek Diagonal Side Part

While hair is damp, diagonally part the hair.

Finger-dry with a hairdryer.

Once the hair is almost dry, switch on the cool button of the hair dryer and blast the hair with cooler air (this prevents frizz and those annoying baby hairs from sticking out).

Spread hair wax on your fingers.

Comb the ends with your wax-covered fingers to enhance your long and loose hair.

Modern Pigtails

Air-dry hair or use a hairdryer to get rid of wetness but before it gets totally dry, create a deep side part using a fine-toothed comb.

Smooth hair with a little bit of hair polish or silicone to tame frizz and baby hairs.

Gather your hair into pigtails and secure each one with wet yarn in the section hair just below your ears. (The yarn is more elastic when it is wet and as it dries up, it will fasten the pigtail more tightly.)

Get some hair polish and spread throughout each pigtail to tame fly-aways and frizz.

Modern Chignon

While hair is still damp, take a comb and measure 1-inch thick bundles separately and comb forward (towards your face).

Secure all remaining hair in the back into a ponytail with an elastic band.

Divide the ponytail into two equal sections.

Twist one section around the elastic band so that it forms a bun, then secure with bobby pins.

Do the same with the other section.

Divide the remaining hair in front into three sections, beginning with the section in the middle of your forehead and the rest on each side of your ear.

Start with the rightmost section, and twist it with a finger so that it looks like a rope. Coil it around the existing bun and secure with bobby pins.

Repeat the same step on the left side and the middle section

Spray on hair spray all over your head to keep your ’do in place.

Modern Roll

Divide your hair into two sections by parting in the middle using a fine-toothed comb.

Pull all the hair on your left side over your shoulder to keep it out of the way.

Pick up a small section of hair from over and in front of your right ear and twist it up. Hold the twisted section in your left hand close to your head.

Sweep up another section of hair from just behind your right ear and add it to the hair in your left hand, and twist it all together a few times. Continue adding and twisting hair until you’ve gathered all the hair on your right side.

When you’re done, have someone hold on to the twisted section as you repeat the same procedure on the left side.

Once this is done, gather the two sections into a singular ponytail and secure with an elastic band.

Narrow Half-Ponytail

With damp or dry hair, part your hair in the middle and comb each side flat down by the ear so it frames your face.

To create the narrow strip of hair in the center, take half-inch sections from the middle part and comb backward, thus eliminating the center part where scalp is seen.

Secure the gathered hair in the middle with an elastic band, barrette or a clip.

Side Ponytail

Create a deep side part with a comb on dry or damp hair.

Gather all hair in the direction of the part.

Secure all the hair with an elastic band creating a side ponytail that is visible from the front.

*This look can be worn slick or tousled.
