Now I know my ABC in rubber shoes

Yes, your feet can now do the talking whenever you wear the latest from the master sports brand Adidas. With Japanese-inspired designs and styles, Adidas shoes in the Alphazeta series are unlike other kinds of shoes you’ve seen before.

Each letter of the alphabet is represented by one unique version of Alphazeta. Each version’s sleek and low profile shows unmistakable panache. A new model each month will be launched, the men’s shoes starting with letter "A" and the women’s with "Z."

First out is Army, which uses a mix of materials like canvas and suede, with camouflage lining. It even includes limited edition badges inside the cover and on the side of the shoe.

Next, Adidas has developed a unique A-Z sublimation print, using all the letters of the alphabet. The result? Blueprint, which is likely to be a favorite. For the women, it’s Yell...ow Fever. This shoe captures the simplicity of the popular color yellow, clean and natural.

C is for Chrome and W is for Waterfall. Chrome exudes a futuristic air; it uses the AZ sublimation effect, mixing metallic silver and chrome. The met silver cover gives it a micropacer feel. Waterfall, on the other hand, uses a subtle yet equally innovative approach. Dotted sublimation material captures the essence of water. Plus, hidden in the print are objects linked to water. What can you see?

The next release brings Eclipse, an almost entirely black shoe, with flashes of light shining through, just like the real thing. Soon it will be hot with Fire and Velvet. A mixture of colors in a dot background create an unusual Fire/Flame effect in Fire. The classic and luxurious feel of the red velvet slipper, on the other hand, is the creative idea behind Velvet. Then comes the eerie Glow, which incorporates leather, a glow-in-the-dark effect and translucent rubber pieces.

The new Alphazeta series is so innovative it even inspired Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto to design shoes for his Fall/Winter 2002 collection.

Adidas recently launched its Alphazeta series with movie stars, fashion models and media people trying out their choices.
