Today’s 10 Most Envied Bodies (Part 2)

If all doctors could look as good as this 22 year-old, then there would be fewer frets about syringes and more patients for regular check-ups. Anna Shier is still some more years away from bagging her license to heal so hospital lines could stay short at the moment. And while the doctor is still out, the newest face and hottest body on MTV is very much in.

Recently finishing a lengthy course on pre-medicine in Minneapolis, Anna took on to her other home to turn the pre into pro. She plans to graduate at the University of Santo Tomas, after single-handedly raising enough money for her tuition, which she’s starting to pinch off her modeling salary. With a VJ stint and a ramp romp for job description, why does she still want to be a doctor, not to mention spend a few more years in school?

"My mom had cancer four times and I have aunts who have died of breast cancer. You see my family has a high rate of cancer," she explains. It is what drives her to finish med school and keep fit. "It’s definitely a health thing. It’s not about how I look. It’s more about what’s going on with my body." Taking this from a vegetarian, a gym buff and an athlete, it all seems like a serious prescription worth following.

How did you develop the desire to stay fit?


In high school and throughout college, I was a cross-country runner. I would run an average of five miles and it just felt great doing it.

What motivates you?


I am a very healthy person and I believe that many illnesses are the direct result of unhealthy living. My family has a high rate of cancer and that alone motivates me to stay fit and strong to face whatever may come my way.

What are the right attitudes, mindset and traits to staying fit?


Work out to feel good about yourself and not to impress others. If you try to stay fit for others, your drive will certainly peter out eventually.

What don’t you do to maintain a healthy body?


I don’t smoke! Your lungs are the basis of your ability to exercise. Feed your muscles with oxygen. They need to work sufficiently.

What’s the best diet regimen for you?


A diet high in protein with lots of fruits and vegetables.

Which part of your body do you think needs more improvement?


My stomach and arms! There is always room for improvement.

How do you feel when a person gets more attracted to your body than your personality?


I find it very sad because I know I have so much more to offer.

How would you encourage others to stay fit?


If you are healthy but not fit, you are very blessed! Shouldn’t we cherish our blessings? Just like any gift given to us, we should cultivate it to the maximum. You don’t notice your health until it’s gone, so please don’t wait until that point. Your quality of life depends on it.
