The colors of Ralph

Ralph by Ralph Lauren plays around with two exciting and versatile color palettes for its spring 2002 collection.

Black, white, hummus and pink form the spare yet chic color palette. Graphic patterns mix with feminine details like bold rugby stripes, houndstooth and glen plain prints meet ruffles, spaghetti straps and wrap tops. Then there are the traditional Ralph elements: gingham shirts and athletic-style pants and skirts.

Vivid greens, yellows, pinks and blues work with vertical and horizontal stripes, paisleys, plaids and florals. American styling is executed with flair, thanks to the bright web belts, shrunken cable knits, five-pocket-pants in linen and stretch cotton, and ruffled tank tops. Here, the traditional Ralph elements are navy and white items plus gold details highlight nautical motifs, classic polos are reworked in color-block stripes and halter styles.
